All Spain, No Pain

Armand Basi Shoes

footloose!

Ah, España, tu eres muy scintillating. Your quixotic Don. Your tiny tapas. Your wacky Almodóvar movies. ¡Ay-yay-yay!

To say nothing of your footwear.

Spanish line Armand Basi’s newest stateside collection is a beauty: peek-toes, sky-high booties, patent leather uppers over platforms, towering T-straps. The heels are high; the cuts and details are risque. (Muy sexy.) The styles are great for summer, but the colors (warm camels, woodsy tones) will take you through fall.

Like its homeland, Basi has an impressive lineage. The first boutique opened in Barcelona in the ’40s, and they’ve been sending men’s and women’s wear down Euro runways for years. The clothes may be staying across the Atlantic, but the shoes translate impeccably into this American life.

All this, without putting anyone on the verge of a nervous breakdown.

Available at SóShoelite, 240 North Highland Avenue, Inman Park (404-525-2103).
