Sweet Home Away from Home

Stonehurst Place B&B Opens

have a sleepover!

Everybody loves a sleepover. Waffles are nearly guaranteed. And how better to judge people than by their books and furnishings?

Get ready to set a higher bar at new Stonehurst Place. Owner Barb Shadomy’s London design schooling stands front and center at the city’s first EarthCraft-certified B&B.

The five rooms are appointed with touches of art deco and art nouveau glamour, multihead showers and soaking tubs, and working gas fireplaces.

If that doesn’t impress you, the china cabinet in the reception room will. It’s filled with vintage Hermès bags. And original Warhol sketches and photos hang on the walls.

Two parlors are stocked with wine, liquor, chilled mixers, juices, and sparkling water. And they do a mean tea service and breakfast omelet.

Or waffle. All you have to do is ask.

Stonehurst Place, 923 Piedmont Avenue NE, Midtown (404-881-0722 or stonehurstplace.com).
