Part of the Equation

Nervous System Jewelry

nerrrrvous!

Algorithms and jewelry design? K.D. Lang and Ted Nugent seem to make a more likely pair.

Yet MIT grads Jessica Eve Rosenkrantz and Jesse Louis-Rosenberg have pulled off the unlikely coupling, putting their mega brains together to create the mathematically inspired jewelry line, Nervous System.

Here’s the winning formula: The Los Angeles-based duo writes and runs pattern-generating computer scripts that create delicate, naturey designs. Then they replicate the patterns in real form, using materials like stainless steel and silicone rubber to forge earrings, brooches, necklaces, and bracelets.

The cost for all this experimental artistry? Positively controlled: No piece is more than $100, with many coming in under $50. And if you’re feeling even more like new math, you can run an application on the website to create your own singularly styled item.

Putting you in the right and left frame of mind.
