A black sheep, you never jelled with the fashion crew. (Sewing your own petticoats wasn’t the groundbreaker you’d hoped.)

Newsflash: Freaky is in. Just ask Creatures of the Wind designers (and locals) Chris Peters and Shane Gabier, whose debut line gets its rocks off on fringe groups and outsider subcultures.

Using embroidered cotton-silk, felted wool, jersey, and a punch-packing palette (black, white, bright orange, red), the duo conjures images of early Americana with their folksy collection.

The multilayered moon dress buttons up the front, the faux tank is a work of genius, the oversize cardigan is a much-needed fall piece, and the Kachina skirt’s geometric design will make you swoon.

Looks like the fashion crew’s got a new leader.
