Chu on This

Chulette Clothing

what chu lookin' at!

Darling, it’s your mother calling — again. Are you depressed? It’s because you’re single. My bridge partner Claudia’s son …

Sometimes, you wish she’d zip it. (Good luck with that.)

Take things into your own hands with Chulette, a new fall line from Columbia College fashion grad Lee Phutrakul that’s got some real zip.

Phutrakul lines everything with 100 percent silk and adds zippers in unexpected places. Silk dresses pop with neon color panels and zippered empire waists; a lavender houndstooth drop-waist number has a knit wool backless top and a yellow and brass zipper-tooth trim; a black and white mini-houndstooth shift peeks neon yellow silk and brassy zippers along the arms.

Now that’s worth talking about.

Available at Habit, 1951 West Division Street, at Damen Avenue (773-342-0093 or habitchicago.com). To see styles, go to chulette.com. Map It
