Trying to keep your cool this summer? Stay tuned for our series of seasonal tips from local experts.
First at bat: A little advice from the Phillie Phanatic and a Little Leaguer we know.
Phillie Phanatic’s Tips
1. Always run hard after you bat. What you think may be an out could really be a home run.
2. As you round second and third bases, look for your coach’s cues; he’ll tell you whether to stay put or move along.
3. If you think you’ve got the ball, call it. Communication’s key to avoiding outfield collisions.
Little Leaguer’s Tips
1. Write your name on all your gear (water bottles, mitts, and hats); it’ll keep things from walking.
2. Tune out the parents in the bleachers; you’re in it for the fun.
3. A trip to the bathroom before the first inning means no emergencies later on.
Follow these tips and we promise your season will be a real hit.
