Ready for This Jelly

Ellelle Artisan Jams

Not enough fiber. Too much sugar. Better be fit for a champion.

Poor breakfast. Everyone’s always passing judgment on the most important meal.

But starting your day with a slice of bread and a slather of Ellelle jam? Can’t think of anything wrong with that.

Hailing from Pasadena, the incredible spreadables are handmade in small batches the old-fashioned way using fresh ingredients sourced nearby (farmers markets, neighbors’ trees, even your own backyard if you want custom jars).

Flavors change with the seasons. For now start on delights like sour lemon with Coachella dates, two-berry conserve with lavender, spring strawberry with backyard mint, and rhubarb with chaparral sage honey and rosemary.

As for the critics?

They’re toast.

Available at Little Flower Candy Company, 1424 West Colorado Boulevard, between Avenue 64 and Melrose Avenue, Pasadena (626-304-4800); Heath Ceramics, 7525 Beverly Boulevard, West Hollywood (323-965-0800). For special orders, e-mail
lennie@ellellekitchen.com. To see flavors, go to ellellekitchen.com.
