Whittemore House Salon Opens

We were feeling all red, white, and blue.

Until we became blonde.

Now we’re waving the flag for Victoria Hunter, who shed her grace on these tresses at the West Village Whittemore House, which she opened with fellow Bumble & Bumble alum Larry Raspanti.

The salon, highly stylized in a landmark townhouse, is a mix of worn woods, concrete, stenciled walls, and Victorian chairs upholstered in bright fabrics.

Hunter wields a mean paintbrush, creating a full head of soft highlights and lots of dimension. Stylist Coby Alcantar has a sharp snip and a fresh point of view for your do.

Beauty junkies will appreciate hard-to find toiletries like Ocean Mist hair spray from Stockholm-based Sacha Juan and green tea mask facials administered by Rose Woo (of Rescue Beauty Lounge). Mani/pedis can be done at the same time as your hair, and they take appointments until 9 p.m. nightly.

So your locks can be liberated by the dawn’s early light.
