Off the Wall

OrangePiel Wall Designs

Knock, knock.

Who’s there?

Orange.

Orange who?

Orange you glad you found Daniel McCool?

The founder of OrangePiel in Sausalito, he imports a proprietary coated textile on which he can print just about anything you want and turn it into ceiling art or wall appliques.

And the dude knows from design. He worked with Philippe Starck to create the back-lit panels on the ceiling of Sushi Katsu-Ya in L.A., and Stanlee Gatti sourced his talents to print the Andy Warhol panels that framed a tent for the SFMOMA Modern Ball.

He can recreate a watercolor painting, matte it on a wall, or use it to frame a window. Or print a photograph, cut it into three panels, and use rods to hang them as a triptych.

Either way, it’s sure to be a knockout.
