Where Art Thou?

Art Restaurant and Lounge Opens

artsy fartsy!

Broccoli trees. Mashed potato castles. And turbo-charged toast soaring.

Through marmalade skies.

Somebody’s playing with your food at the Four Seasons’s new restaurant, Art, which opens today.

Beloved chef Kerry Sear’s (Cascadia) dining room is whimsical and serene: LED lights shift colors. More than 160 Northwest wines are offered by the glass. And the view of Elliott Bay is as stunning as the regional oil paintings.

Small plates include venison carpaccio and kampachi paired with your choice of fifteen sauces (blood orange olive oil, pumpkin seed sea salt) served with paintbrushes. Entrees like wild boar loin chop or Alaskan sable fish get accessorized with sides such as kimchi cabbage and winter squash.

It’s not so much eating as fashioning an edible opus.

One that’ll give you kaleidoscope eyes.
